The former CIA employee and whistleblower Edward Snowden has described Bitcoin as "not safe". He also praised the competing cryptowogy Zcash (abbreviation ZEC) because, in contrast to Bitcoin, this could ensure the privacy of the users.
Snowden made these comments in response to a Twitter user who wrote, "Zcash is the only Altcoin I know, designed and programmed by professional and academic cryptographers. Difficult to ignore."

OK, Ed - I get your point. But since the "cashless society" thugs really WANT to be able to track all transactions, they're not likely to promote a cryptocurrency which guarantees our privacy. In fact, they're likely to call for such a thing to be outlawed.
