Nuking An Asteroid ???

According to this report, scientists are preparing to destroy any asteroid(s) which threaten to strike the earth:

Maybe so, but my take on this is that We The People (through our tax dollars) are funding research which will be used by very rich people to become extremely rich beyond even their wildest dreams - billionaires will become trillionaires:

I think they should pay for their own damn research.

Alternatively, We The People should seize their windfall profits to pay off the debt the rich have saddled us with. We don't need no stinking trillionaires.
