Google, Facebook, and three other companies are gearing up to provide high-speed global WiFi coverage from space within the next three to four years. This would be an ecological and public health nightmare, according to a recently-formed international coalition: the Global Union Against Radiation Deployment from Space (GUARDS).
According to GUARDS, the extensive satellite networks required will endanger the ozone layer and significantly contribute to climate change. Rocket exhaust contains ozone-destroying chlorine, water vapor (a greenhouse gas), and aluminum oxide particles, which seed stratospheric clouds. Complete ozone destruction is observed in the exhaust plumes of rockets.

The network these corporations are building is a sociocidal tool which the nation-state-killing market state desperately needs to enable the next phase of its dirty work.
Ask yourself where the money is coming from to accomplish all this crap. No one puts up that kind of cash unless they expect a huge return. And global hegemony is indeed a huge return.
If Ms. Porat will be instrumental in accomplishing this feat, then her pay will have been worth it, at least to them (the bankgangsters, corporations, and their collaborators in the one percent).
And if the network ultimately helps eliminate all of us useless eaters from the planet, a bit of environmental destruction is not that high a price to pay.
