It appears that the altruism (if you can call it that) of Bill Gates and Monsanto is preying on Africa's poor:
The Gates Foundation, Monsanto and Western governments are placing African agriculture it in the hands of big agritech for private profit and strategic control under the pretext of helping the poor.

I have yet to hear of anything either of them has done which benefits anyone other than bankgangsters, corporations, and their collaborators in the one percent.
Rich people (and that includes the "new people" a.k.a. corporations) are demons we would all be better off without.
