Geraldo Rivera recently said the following:
We could feed every poor child in Central America with the excess food we toss into our dumpsters.

Dear Geraldo: If that were true, then why haven't we been feeding our own poor children with this tossed food? The basic problem is that Americans do not give a damn about other people's children. Some Americans don't even care about their own children.
I think it would be a good idea if you were to harness your celebrity and boundless energy to gather up all that tossed food and get it distributed to the poor children you so deeply care about.
If you want, I may even help you; although truth be told I might eat some of that tossed food myself. Times are hard all around.
